Circulating pump and its use for domestic purposes

Work on the construction or reconstruction of country houses and cottages rarely do without the purchase of a device such as a circulation pump. Choose such equipment is not always easy, but it is impossible to do without it, especially if it is a question of permanent residence in a country house. So, household circulation pumps are one of the most important elements that solve the issue of livelihood in a cottage. The main task of such a device is to heat the premises during the cold season. Thanks to this pump, the house will always be warm and cozy.

Before buying a pump, you need to decide what the maximum temperature of the heating medium used in heating is. You will also need to calculate how the height of the building and the diameter of the heating pipe are correlated. In a thick pipe, the resistance will be lower, and therefore, it will be possible to limit the pump to a lower power. On the other hand, the power should be enough to raise the water to the desired height, because without it the sense of installing the pump is lost (it will not be able to heat all rooms with the same efficiency). Manufacturers on their products indicate maximum power, but this does not mean that the device will be able to work in this mode continuously. If the maximum speed is set for a long time, the circulation pump will quickly become unusable. Proceeding from this, the device should be chosen with some margin in power.

All calculations are made individually for each building. Without considering the amount of hydraulic resistance, the amount of energy transferred to the coolant system within an hour should be three times the volume of the system. This is the normal performance, which is characterized by circulating pumps for heating. If the circulation speed is low, then for the average cottage losses will be minimal. In some cases, the calculation may be hampered by a number of specific conditions. To avoid mistakes, it is recommended to entrust the choice to professionals who can make an accurate calculation of the heating (or piped) system in the building.

It should also be taken into account that the circulation pump is a necessity only when installed in houses with several floors. For a single-storey house there may be enough electric or some other radiator.

However, it should also be noted that the circulation pump can be used not only in heating, but also in water supply, or in underfloor heating systems. If the building is large enough, and the use of radiators does not give the desired effect, the pump becomes the only solution to the problem.

Since the heat is distributed evenly, the temperature regime in any of the heated rooms will be the same. When choosing, one should be guided not only by power, but also by how much the pump is compact, unpretentious in operation, silent and economical. A modern high-quality pump fully meets all these criteria.
